First Century Live! is dedicated to bringing audiences everywhere authentic images of the first century as now understood through discoveries of the past sixty years.
Our productions are based largely on the work of Jim Fleming, Ph.D., American archeologist and educator. Dr. Fleming, a resident of Israel for thirty years, offers workshops and seminars throughout the United States, Israel, and many other countries, and founded the Biblical Resources Study Center in Ein Karem, Jerusalem.
The Study Center provides tour groups from around the world with informative study tours and scriptural experiences. These include authentic first century Biblical meals and guided tours through the "Scripture Garden," a unique outdoor Biblical museum. Throughout the year of 1997, performing artist Joan Huguenard served on the volunteer staff of Biblical Resources.
Dr. Fleming is on the Board of Directors of Biblical Archeology Review and has been appointed by the Israeli Tourist Bureau to educate every prospective tour guide in Israel on the Christian elements of the Holy Land.
After "Come to the Water" was presented in Jordan and Israel in 1999, Dr. Fleming was heard to exclaim, "Wouldn't it be wonderful if other volunteers developed a ministry like Joan's that carries our work to the people back home in such a creative and memorable way?"
